hedgerow baskets - 2 days

overview:

Using hedgerow materials harvested on the hedgerow harvest course in February, learn how to make a “hedgerow” basket out of ivy, dogwood. willow and other native wild plants.

cancellations:

we will provide a full refund if you cancel your place more than 14 days in advance of the course start date.  Please note that we will be unable to refund your course fee or transfer you to another course if you cancel your place less than 14 days before the start of the course.

what to wear:

Wear sturdy shoes or boots at all times. Please note that for the majority of the day you will be sitting on cushions on the floor. This is the way that basketry is traditionally done and I have yet to find a better way to approach it!

what to bring:

Please bring some sharp secateurs if you have any, and/or a pocket knife.

how to book:

To secure the place, you will need to complete a booking form.
Booking forms can either be returned by email, along with payment by bacs, or returned in the post with a cheque.
You will then be sent a booking confirmation, outlining where to go and what to bring.  If you haven’t received confirmation with 10 days of sending in your booking form, please contact us on 01892 740303.  Please note that once payment has been banked, the course will run as advertised, and we will expect to see you on the day unless you have notified us otherwise.  We will issue a full refund if you give us 14 days notice of cancellation.  Unfortunately if you cancel your place within 14 days of the course date, we will not be able to refund your course fee.

Courses and volunteer days are held at Bore Place, near Sevenoaks, Kent
(www.commonwork.org) - an environmental and educational charity on a 500 acre organic dairy farm, set in beautiful low weald countryside. Converted farm buildings and a Jacobean Manor House offer accommodation if required, with walks and local pubs to enjoy when you’re not wooding! Directions will be sent to you once you’ve booked on a course and can also be accessed from the contact us page.

accommodation:

Depending on availability, Commonwork can offer B&B to course participants from 45 per person/night. Camping opportunities are limited; we have a hot shower and toilets, but no cooking facilities. It is essential that you contact us in advance to book either camping or bed and breakfast, and we ask that all guests respect each other’s privacy and, where appropriate, the peace and quiet of Bore Place.
