Willow Garden Structures - feedback. Tutor: John Waller

General comments:
“Very enjoyable day. Excellent tuition – John has a very relaxed style. Lovely to be able to bring away something that looks so professional (Ok a bit wonky) after just a few hours. I might even be able to recall the procedures well enough to create another at home. Very happy I got onto this at the eleventh hour. Thank you!” Sandra 2016

“Excellent  - John was as usual very patient and a great teacher.” Jan 2016

“I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the weather was warm and sunny, John gave expert tuition throughout and made me feel like an expert (in my head only !). I ended up with two structures that although not perfect are now sitting in the garden and give me great pleasure. This was my second course with John and I am already looking forward to the next one.
We had a great time and managed to get two obelisks and three sunflowers in the car (plus us two) for the short journey home” Jeremy 2014

“I
t was an excellent course, and that John got 10/10 on everything. It was a little unkind to my arthritic thumb joints, and would welcome another course of some kind may be later“ Linda 2014

“I really enjoyed the course, learning something new in a nice environment. I suspect the weather had a lot to do with it…thank you for a lovely day” Cressida 2014

“I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Even though it was quite a challenge I came away quite proud of what I had made under John's patient tuition. Having first met John at our WI I shall tell other members of our institute all about my day and encourage them to have a try!” Alison 2014

“Very tolerant!  I loved the structures I made for my garden - with John’s help!” Victoria 2012

“I really enjoyed the course.  John is an excellent tutor and made everyone feel relaxed and able to tackle the structures. Considering the fact that we “built” an obelisk, a piece of trellis, a flower support and a decorative dragonfly AND John taught us for 4.5 hours each day I think the course was cheap.
Maybe the marketing could point out what you are paying for - 9 hours tuition plus the articles made from willow.  Incredible value at 100” Micaela 2012

I attended two workshops one at Wakehurst place making a living chair. It was a lovely day especially as I went the day the sun shone !.It was good fun nice group not too many people so as much attention as you needed. The second was at Bore place, an equally lovely setting. Lots of fun both workshops and now I have a fully sprouting chair, a recognisable Dragonfly! and a fence panel. My neighbours were so impressed they bought me a DIY willow Arch which is also sprouting well.
I have passed the workshop info on to lots of people.
Hope to attend more myself later on in the season.” Judith, 2012

“thoroughly enjoyed you course (despite the cold!) and thought everything was explained and demonstrated very well. The group size was small and perfect for getting lots of attention, but I understand this was because some people were put off by the weather.
The venue was excellent.
I can’t rate the booking process and price as my husband arranged it for me as a Birthday present!
I live locally so didn’t use overnight accommodation.
I would love to attend another course in the future.
Also, I would like to buy some willow bundles from you so I can try to make some more structures in my garden (and also the little instruction book you showed us to remind me how” Pip 2013

Would you like to see any changes to the course, facilities, or teaching?
- We had one freezing day and one glorious day weatherwise.  Marketing materials could emphasis that [the] workshop is done in the open air so warm clothing is advised!!
- Could I request better signage from Bore Place.  It took us 40 mins to find you (from Brasted!!) because there are no signs on the Sevenoaks Edenbridge Road.  Could someone speak to Kent Highways about improving signage?
- Maybe an indoor area like a barn or something for very cold days
- I was conscious that some of the group were far quicker and spent some time waiting for the rest of us - could they have been making two obelisks ? Obviously at an increased cost for materials. But perhaps they did not mind.

Did you book overnight accommodation on site?
